Can I sell Meesho Products on Amazon? or How to sell Meesho Products on Amazon? – I have started seeing these question pretty often. And today someone asked me on one of my Youtube videos if I could help him sell Meesho Products on Amazon!

First, I searched on the internet to see if I was missing out on something and if there is any exact process to do it. But I couldn’t find any good resource. That is when I decided to explain it in detail through this article.

In a nutshell – The answer is Yes and No. Yes, because you can sell anything on Amazon. No, because the policies of Amazon are too strict. You will most likely end up violating Amazon policies if you try to sell Meesho products on Amazon.

Unless you thoroughly understand the guidelines and policies of Amazon (that I have explained later), do not even try to sell Meesho Products on Amazon.

For those who are not familiar with Meesho, it is a reseller app.

What is Meesho?

Meesho is a Reselling App that provides a cost effective option for selling products with zero startup investment, working from home.

Sellers or Manufacturers list their products on the Meesho App at wholesale rate along with MRP. Anybody registered as a reseller can choose any product(s) and market them to earn a profit or commission on every sale.

As a reseller, you do not need to invest in purchasing the inventory, storage or shipping.

How Meesho Reseller App Works?

1. A Seller, Manufacturer or Supplier completes the Meesho Seller Registration Process to create a virtual store front on Meesho and lists their products along with the selling price.
2. Users or resellers registered on Meesho browse the products and if they find something appealing, they share it further through social media, websites, or whatsapp etc.
3. A reseller shares the image and description with a price slightly higher than the selling price listed on Meesho.
4. If a customer wants to buy the product through this reseller, they can contact or message the him/her. The reseller will then process the order further on Meesho stating the price difference as his commission and address of the customer.
5. Once seller receives the order from you, the reseller, it will notify Meesho that the order is ready for delivery.
6. Meesho then picks up and delivers the product to customer within the stated time frame and with invoice of the price quoted by reseller.
7. Customer then pays Meesho and Meesho after keeping its own commission fee, pays the product price to seller & pays the reseller his profit.

So, basically, resellers never really buy anything. They just promote the existing products listed by manufacturers or sellers who are authorized to sell that product.

How does Amazon Work?

To sell on Amazon, you need to be authorized to sell the product on Amazon. Amazon is very strict about authentication of products being sold on Amazon.

1. You register as a seller on Amazon.
2. Depending on what product you want to sell, you might have to apply for approval to sell on Amazon. For this you require brand authorization letter and Invoices of purchase of item from supplier directly.
3. List your products on Amazon.
4. When you get the orders, pack and ship the orders to the customer with a proper invoice generated by you.

The package should contain information only about you and there should be no invoice in the package that states someone else as the seller.

Amazon Audits

Amazon keeps a check on your performance as a seller and any complaint, negative reviews, or counterfeit or brand infringement claims can trigger an audit from Amazon. These claims can be by customers, other sellers or even brand owner themselves.

Sometimes, it can be without any reason. Amazon tries to keep its platform clear of any counterfeit products or illegal selling and for that it reviews listings from time to time.

Specially, in last couple of years, Amazon has started auditing listings more often. If Amazon has even slightest of doubt that you are violating the rules or there is any complaint against your products, it will ask for proper documentation.

Most Important Requirement – Invoice & Brand Authorization Letter

One of the mandatory document to prove authenticity of your product is a proper invoice from the brand or supplier who is authorized to sell products for reselling on Amazon along with brand authorization letter.

If you are not able to provide the Invoice, your account is suspended and you can not sell any longer on Amazon. And DO NOT TY TO FUDGE THESE INVOICES. You will most likely be caught and banned from Amazon. You might also get into legal complications.

Also, do not mistake invoice to sales receipt! Invoice has to clearly state the manufacturer or supplier’s information, should be in the name of your business registered on Amazon, and quantity should match your sales.

This brings us to your question.

Can I Sell Meesho Products On Amazon?

You Can BUT YOU SHOULD NOT!

Anybody wanting to sell Meesho products on Amazon, is basically trying to somewhat work on the drop shipping method.

So, technically YES as Amazon allows drop shipping with a certain conditions.

BUT, it is a REALLY BAD idea in case of Amazon because there is no segregation between regular sellers and those doing drop shipping. The same policies apply to both. i.e. you should be authorized to sell that product on Amazon with proper invoices & brand authorization.

So, I would say NO!

But people are selling on Amazon through drop shipping!

Yes, there are many people doing it and claiming they earn in Lakhs. But, it is a short term game. You may earn quickly but with a very high risk of being suspended.

If Amazon checks up your listing and asks you for invoices and brand authorization, you have to be able to provide it. If you fail to do so, your listing will be suspended and your account may also get banned.

Main reasons why it is not feasible or not advisable to sell Meesho products on Amazon:

1. Invoice & Brand Authorization Letter – You may or may not be able to obtain a proper invoice and brand authorization letter to sell a particular product. In case Amazon asks for it, and you don’t have it, your listing will be removed. Multiple such cases will lead to account ban.
2. Shipping Time – You will need to get the order shipped to you first, repackage the product with your generated invoice and seller details and ship the product to the customer within a certain time frame. If you fail to ship the product in time, Amazon will cancel the order and multiple order cancellations will lead to Account suspension.
3. Product Quality – You do not have the time to test the product and check the quality before shipping the item. If the customer gets a product in bad quality or doubts that you have sold an inauthentic product, they can file a complain which can again result in audit.

Also, the same thing applies to Flipkart. Working of Flipkart is roughly similar so it is not advisable to sell Meesho Products on Flipkart either.

Where can I sell Meesho Products?

There are many ways to promote and sell your Meesho Products other than on Amazon. Few of these are listed below:

1. Through your social media accounts like facebook and instagram.
2. Through your Youtube channel, if you have one.
3. Spread the link through whatsapp messages or status
4. Create a blog to promote the products as in case of affiliate marketing.

I hope you got the idea. Selling Meesho Products is just like affiliate marketing. You have to spread the word as much as possible through various channels or websites or using paid ads on various platforms.

So unless you know the supplier well enough and have the brand authorization letter to sell on Amazon, AND you are sure you can get a proper invoice from the brand or authorized supplier, do not get into such a business model. In that case, better to stay clear of Amazon.
